Kalāheo High School Foundation Board Honors Excellence Of Its Alumni
The Kalaheo High School Foundation Board recently hosted a luncheon at O'ahu Country Club to present an Alumni Honor Award to Myah Moore Irick, Class of 1999, for her educational achievements and successful career in investment and wealth management.
The award recognizes the notable accomplishments of Kalaheo graduates and promotes school pride among students, faculty, staff and the community at-large.
Irick received a bachelor's degree from Lewis & Clark College, a master's degree from Columbia University, and a joint international master's of business administration with honors from Brown University and Instituro de Empresa.
She also holds a certificate in financial planning from Northwestern University, and the chartered financial consultant designation from The American College of Financial Services.
Professionally, Irick most recently joined Merrill Private Wealth Management to establish The Irick Group, where she focuses on providing wealth planning strategies to executives, business owners, entrepreneurs, women, families navigating sudden wealth and a growing list of professional athletes.
Her prior experiences were as executive director at J.P. Morgan Private Bank and as a relationship manager at PNC Wealth Management.
She also held several senior roles at Columbia University, where she advised families on philanthropy and estate planning solutions.
For Irick, this means being resourceful and trusted while developing creative strategies to help clients to not only achieve their ambitions but to also maximize financial potential, provide for loved ones and help them give back to their communities.
Irick resides in Pennsylvania and spends much of her free time with her husband and three children. She also serves on the boards of the Carnegie Science Center, Energy Innovation Center Institute and Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, and is a strategic partner to Investment News and The Advanced Leadership Initiative. Her experience as Miss Oregon - with the Miss Universe Organization - in 2003 inspired her ongoing commitment to promoting educational opportunities for women.
Twelve Kaläheo alumni have received the honor award and, since many alumni have left Hawaii, only three have been awarded in-person.
The foundation board looks forward to an opportunity to also present a 2022 award to Linda Elliott, Class of 1976, founder and president of Hawaii Wildlife Center in Kapa au on Hawai'i Island.
About these alumni, retired Kaläheo principal and current foundation president Jim Schlosser states, "We are very proud of these two women who, with determination and hard work, have achieved excellence in their professions - Myah by helping others achieve their own success and Linda by rescuing, providing state-of-the art veterinary care, and rehabilitating native winged wildlife."
